discoverbudapest.art is operated by artavizo (contact: vince.barath@artavizo.com). We are committed to protecting visitors' privacy — this site processes as little data as possible.

Cookies

This site uses no marketing or analytics cookies. Only strictly necessary session cookies are set, and only for signed-in users (editors and community contributors). This is why you don't see a cookie consent banner.

Community accounts and submissions

When you register, we store your email address, the display name you provide and the timestamp of your consent (legal basis: your consent and the operation of your account as a contract). Data is stored on EU servers (Supabase, Frankfurt), never shared with third parties, and we don't send newsletters.

Submitted artwork photos and their details are not public until approved by our editors; once approved, they appear in the archive under the license you chose and with the credit you provided. You may request deletion of your account at any time at the email above — your published submissions will then be deleted or anonymised as you prefer.

You subscribe to our newsletter by providing your email address — this constitutes your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). To be able to prove consent, we record its timestamp, the notice text you saw when subscribing, and an irreversible, pseudonymised fingerprint (hash) of your IP address — the latter used solely to prevent abuse (automated mass sign-ups). We use the address only for the newsletter and never share it. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in every letter or by writing to the email above.

Account activity

Your collection and gallery journal are visible only to you, inaccessible to others, and deleted together with your account. We use this data solely to operate the service — never for profiling or advertising.

Retention

Account data: for the life of the account or until an erasure request is fulfilled. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe (we keep the fact of unsubscription for legal proof). Pending submissions: until withdrawn or reviewed. The minimum age for registration is 16.

Data we process

Gallery information shown on this site (name, address, website, social links) is publicly available, institutional data. Anyone may request correction or removal at the email above — we respond within one month.

Processors

Hosting and database: Supabase (EU, Frankfurt). Serving: Vercel. Map tiles are provided by CARTO, and some archive images are served by Wikimedia Commons; when these load, the respective provider sees your IP address. None of these providers set tracking cookies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction, or object to processing; you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
