Privacy Notice

Artelix is operated by artavizo (contact: vince.barath@artavizo.com). We process as little personal data as possible, store it on EU servers, and never sell or share it with third parties.

Cookies

No marketing or analytics cookies. Only strictly necessary session cookies are set, and only for signed-in users — which is why there is no cookie banner.

Accounts

When you register we store your email address, the display name you provide, the role you selected (art enjoyer, collector, artist or gallerist — used only to tailor your experience) and the timestamp of your consent. Legal basis: your consent and the operation of your account as a contract. One account works across Artelix and discoverbudapest.art, which share one data layer.

Contributions

Submitted artwork photos and their details are not public until approved by our editors. Once approved, they appear in the archive under the license you chose, with the credit you provided. You may withdraw a pending submission at any time; for published entries, write to the email above and we will delete or anonymise them as you prefer.

Newsletter

You subscribe by providing your email address — this constitutes your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). To be able to prove consent, we record its timestamp, the notice text you saw when subscribing, and an irreversible, pseudonymised fingerprint (hash) of your IP address — used solely to prevent automated abuse. We use the address only for the newsletter. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in every letter or by writing to the email above.

Account activity

Your collection and gallery journal are visible only to you and deleted with your account. We never use this data for profiling or advertising. The minimum age for registration is 16.

Retention

Account data: for the life of the account or until an erasure request is fulfilled. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe (we keep the fact of unsubscription as legal proof). Pending submissions: until withdrawn or reviewed.

Processors

Hosting and database: Supabase (EU, Frankfurt). Serving: Vercel. Some archive images are served directly by Wikimedia Commons; when they load, Wikimedia sees your IP address. None of these providers set tracking cookies on this site.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction, or object to processing; you may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. We answer every request within one month.
